Kroll Ontrack is working with electronics waste recycling firm TES-AMM to ensure hardware or storage devices are wiped of usable data prior to recycling, resale or destruction.
TES-AMM in Singapore has launched a hardware based eraser product named Ontrack Eraser Degausser 3.0 aimed at secure data deletion.
Kroll Ontrack and TES-AMM are also working together on a community recycling project in Australia, in partnership with two Queensland schools that teach students with disabilities. The project sees students aintegrating computer recycling as part of their senior ‘Work Skills Program,’ with all funds from the sale of computer drive commodities going back to the schools as part of their fundraising programs.
Kroll Ontrack provides the collection points for computer recycling, organizes the computer hard drives to be delivered to the schools, and supplies all necessary tools and an engineer to train the work center staff who teach the students how to dismantle the drives. TES-AMM collects the materials and provides a rebate to the schools once the commodities have been sorted and graded.
