Unisplendour Corporation Limited (UNIS) has chosen Dimension Data to implement a new storage solution for the national network of Internet Data Centres it serves for China Telecom. This project will see a high-performance storage solution deployed in China Telecom's provincial data centres across the country.
Dimension Data's solution costs 30%less than the current legacy storage solution while offering 20% higher computing ability. Managing costs are also expected to be lower.
The new solution offers increased cache bandwidth of about 68 GB/s, about 10% more than other systems. This overcomes the bottleneck of pre-structured data.
According to a press statement, the IT team has seen significant productivity gains, as a result of overall improvement in the performance of applications using the new storage solution.
